This dreamy family session with the winners of my giveaway in February took place in Rowena Crest. The wildflowers were in bloom and the wind was just perfect.
Adventure family sessions are so fun because we get to go somewhere incredibly beautiful. It’s always worth the extra travel time to go to places like the Columbia River Gorge or The Oregon Coast.

My inspiration for your family photos starts with getting to know you. That’s why I ask all the families I work with to fill out a questionnaire that tells me what their hopes and expectations are for their photos.
Once I know what’s really important to you then I can start putting things together that I think will fit your family’s style.
During our initial consultation I will discuss wardrobe with you. I don’t expect you to follow any particular style, I want it to feel true to you and your family.
To get the best results, we coordinate colors and textures so that you can have the best possible results in your photos.
The most important thing to know about working with me is that I value connection over perfection.
I am looking to register real moments between you and your family so we won’t be running through a list of poses and prompts. Instead I will observe your family and let your love for each other shine.

Why Choose Rowena Crest for Your Family Session?
Rowena Crest it’s an absolutely dreamy location for family pictures.
It works for every season, but even more so at the end of April when wildflowers are in bloom.
We don’t have that many spots in Oregon where you can see wildflowers in their full splendor, but Rowena Crest is definitely one of them.
There’s beauty to be seen in Rowena any time of the year. You get stunning views of the Columbia River Gorge and, when the sun is out, the sunsets are absolutely beautiful.
Plan A Day Trip
Rowena Crest is about 1.5 hs away from Portland. You can definitely do the trip in a day and back.
You might also want to make a weekend or a day out of it. Here are some tips if you decide to do that:
Stay in Hood River
Hood River is just a 20 minute drive from Rowena and you can find plenty to do there to make a day or even a weekend out of it.
The Society Hotel is a super fun and lush option for accommodation.
When it comes to keeping the kids entertained, you can stop by the river front and let them play at the playground, take a hike, check out what is available in the Fruit Loop and check out the Mt Hood Railroad.
Whatever you do, I’m sure your family will have a wonderful time in Hood River.
