Have you ever seen the Portland Cherry Blossoms in person? They are absolutely magical!
These pink and white flowers that bloom from cherry trees are just incredible. What makes them even more special is that they bloom only for a couple of weeks a year. Portland Cherry Blossoms are usually in bloom late March or beginning of April.
In Japan, these beautiful trees are an important cultural symbol. In their culture the cherry blossoms are a great representation of the concept “mono no aware” and it refers to appreciating something that is beautiful but will soon pass.

Where can I find Cherry Blossoms in Portland?
Most of us knows about the Cherry Blossoms at the waterfront in downtown Portland. I really recommend checking those out since they are the most iconic around here.
For photos, however, I take my clients to a location that is a lot more private and less busy. These allows for a much more relaxed environment during your photos.

How to prepare for your Portland Cherry Blossom Session
As usual you will get my full support to prepare for your session. That includes full styling assistance – meaning I will help you pick outfits for the whole family!
I will also send you emails before the session that help you prepare yourself and your kids for what to expect during the session.
The best thing you can do to prepare is to come to your session bringing all the love you have for your little ones. I’ll be giving you a ton of direction during the session so you will know exactly what to do.
When should I book my session?
The cherry blossoms are usually in bloom end of March or beginning of April. I would recommend getting in touch in February to reserve your spot and I will keep you updated on when exactly the blooms are expected to come in.
